How to Get the Gold Spork

Before you can dive in and get the Gold Spork, you’re going to need to get your hands on the Spoon first. There are a few steps you’ll need to go through before you can get the item, but we’ve outlined them all below, so let’s hop right in.

Get the Spoon

Before you can get the Spoon you’re going to need to get your hands on the Warden Key. This is dropped by killing the Warden whenever he comes after you. Pick it up and you’re good to go.

Next you need to build the Shield which you will need to activate the Pack-A-Punch in Blood of the Dead.

With the Shield in tow, it’s also time to get the Hell’s Retriever and also acquire the Acidgat.

Once you have all of the items listed above, it’s time to start hunting for the Spoon.

The first step in acquiring the Spoon is going to be to make your way to the Warden’s Office. Once here, using the shield and look at the pillars that stand in the center of the room. You should see three numbers here when you ADS with the shield. Remember these numbers.

Now, head down to the Citadel Tunnels. There is a locked box of voltage panels that you can charge up with the shield. Charge the panels up and then enter the numbers that you got off the pillars in the Warden’s Office. The numbers should blink if you entered them correctly.

From here, head down to the docks and charge up your shield along the way. You’re going to need to charge up another panel once you arrive. Find the panel and charge it up. This will cause the crane in the background to turn, moving a large net with several items inside of it over the docks. Wait for it to come to a complete stop, then use the Hell’s Retriever to knock the Spoon from the netting. It should drop the crates below. Pick it up.

Upgrade to the Spork

Now that you have the Spoon, it’s time to upgrade it to the Gold Spork. For this step you will need the Acidgat. Once you have it, make your way over to the Infirmary and place the Spoon in the bathtub in the room by itself (there’s a room with several bathtubs and a room with just one bathtub).

Head up to the roof next and start getting kills with the Acidgat. This will cause the tub below to fill with blood. The more kills you acquire, the faster the tub will fill with blood. Continue killing zombies on the roof until the bathtub completely fills up, then interact with it to drain the blood.

With the bathtub drained, the Spoon will have vanished. To complete this little hunt, it’s time to make your way to the Catwalk, where you should be able to see a water tower a little ways off in the distance. Your goal here is to use the Hell’s Retriever and throw it at the pipe that juts from the ground and into the water tower. Aim right where the ground and the pipe meet. If you throw it correctly, the Hell’s Retriever should return with the Gold Spork in tow.

Now that you have this powerful melee weapon, you should be good to start clearing zombies with your melee attack. It will kill most zombies in one hit up to around wave 30, so make use of it while you can to save ammunition and points for later fights.
