C6 Barbara running her out of business..

The sweet and energetic owner of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor is seeing another rerun; Hu Tao of Genshin Impact is one of the most powerful units in Liyue. While her kit can prove to be a little finicky, with additional units, she has proven again and again to dominate in the Abyss and against bosses. Now that she’s returning, it’s time to refresh everyone’s memory of what items she requires to unleash her full potential.

A Genshin Impact Oldie but a Goodie – Primo Geovishap

Remember when the Primo Geovishap was a chunky boss of HP, then the devs at Hoyoverse decided to release Beneath the Dragon-Queller shortly after that? Yeah, good times. The Primo Geovishap is located in the Tianqiu Valley of Liyue that can be reached by two paths, either by walking there from the Nantianmen Valley Waypoint or by gliding down from the Waypoint just north of its location. Closer to the Tianqiu Valley is another entrance next to some dilapidated ruins where Treasure Hoarders dwell.

Now, they are a fairly easy boss to prepare against as long as you have a shielded unit in your team. Having a Geo Unit doesn’t hurt either because whether it comes from attacks or by generating a shield, whenever Geo interacts with another Element such as Pyro, Hydro, Electro, or Cryo then it’ll spawn a gem from Crystallization. Obtaining these on the field will generate a shield around your character correlating to that specified Element that dropped. If the Primo Geovishap unleashes its Special Move, these Crystallize Gems count as a shield to work against it to rebound the damage from yourself to the Boss. Another great thing about the Primo Geovishap is that these particular enemies tend to drop different types of gems. Depending on the one that you fought in battle, they can drop any of the following gems: Vajrada Amethyst, Shivada Jade, Agnidus Agate, and Varunada Lazurite. While it isn’t certain that you’ll always run into the Pyro-Correlated Primo Geovishap, it will at least help lower the required gems you’ll need to collect for Hu Tao.

Hu Tao Ascension Materials – Surprisingly Easy for Present Users, A Long Distant Nightmare for Veterans

Silk Flowers are deceptively easy to find all across Liyue, with more of them being found right along the path of Wangshu Inn then rummaging through the multiple gardens on the upper levels of the city of Liyue, right where the Rite of Descension Quest took place. These flowers can be found in red clusters with two being found in each bush you come across. While there aren’t many to collect all 168 in one go, they do regenerate every day, so there shouldn’t be too much difficulty when it comes to gathering enough for Hu Tao if you don’t already have the extra spares from other characters.

The other item that Hu Tao will need is Nectar, often collected from Whopperflowers. This was quite a tricky commodity around Liyue. While not exactly rivaling the Handguards in Inazuma, they still prove to be very tricky to gather as the abundance used to be very low, and nearly every character had required them. Nowadays, since previous updates, they are now found in just about every region with different variants, so luckily for newer players, they only have to suffer with Handguards. To make it easier to grind though, you can just use your Adventurer’s Journal to narrow down the places that you visit so you can tackle the larger numbers of Whopperflowers in the region that you are in. It helps to not have to think about where the larger clusters are as you follow the icon around the map of Teyvat that’ll rotate to the next area of Whopperflowers once you defeat the current ones.

  • x1 Agnidus Agate Sliver, x9 Agnidus Agate Fragment, x9 Agnidus Agate Chunk, x6 Agnidus Agate Gemstone
  • X46 Juvenile Jade
  • X168 Silk Flower
  • x18 Whopperflower Nectar, x30 Shimmering Nectar, x36 Energy Nectar

Genshin Impact Hu Tao Talent Level-Up Requirements and Materials

In the sole Talent Domain of Liyue, Hu Tao will likewise require the drops from the Taishan Mansion. Her branch requires that Diligence, which can be found every Tuesday and Friday, with all of the Talents being farmable on Sunday. It helps to not have so many units use Gold, so it proves to be a nice change in pace. Along with these books, she’ll require more Nectar from the Whopperflowers and, once past the Sixth Level, will need the additional help of a World Boss.

Now it’s time for everyone’s favorite activity in Genshin Impact, beating up Childe. The World Boss material that Hu Tao is going to need is the Shard of a Foul Legacy, which can only be accessed by defeating Childe in his Domain. This particular World Boss comes with a total of four drops that can be obtained from his Domain, so getting the one you need may be a bit of a tricky battle. Or you are incredibly lucky. You can always head to the crafting table to transform Childe’s World Boss Mats from something you don’t need into Hu Tao’s needed Level-Up Material.

Ascension Materials Needed for ONE Branch (With Crown)

  • x6 Whopperflower Nectar, x21 Shimmering Nectar, x31 Energy Nectar
  • x6 Shard of a Foul Legacy
  • x1 Crown of Insight
