The Brentwood waste key can be found after killing a screamer zombie called “Brentwood Staff”. This is easily found roaming on the entrance road of Brentwood Water Reclamation Project building, which is a massive water treatment facility found in the lower western part of Beverly Hills.

However, you cannot just run your way to the Brentwood Water Reclamation Project building in the hopes of finding this screamer. For this, you will need to complete the main quest first called Justifiable Zombicide. This is a tenth main mission that involves meeting Sam B in Beverly Hills and fixing the water trouble in this rich town that is now overrun by flesh-eating monsters. Interestingly, this is also the mission where you are introduced to the Nikki Gutte, an apex Screamer variant. After completing the mission, you will start seeing screamers appear randomly in the game’s world, including the named screamers in Dead Island 2.

Finding the Brentwood Staff Screamer Zombie

After completing the main mission, go to the main entrance road of Brentwood Water Reclamation Project, and try to find the “Brentwood Staff” screamer. It is possible you do not see this unique zombie right away after the mission. If this happens, you need to exit the area and come back later.

Once you have spotted the “Brentwood Staff” screamer outside the Brentwood Water Reclamation Project, we recommend you use ranged weapons to take it down quickly. You will also be surrounded by other standard zombies, which will make it hard for you to kill the screamer with melee weapons. Screamers are terrifying and must be eliminated quickly as they have mutated lungs allowing them to emit powerful sonic shockwaves through a loud scream. This scream pushes players back, slows their movement, and triggers a frenzy in nearby zombies, leading to a rapid increase in spawns that quickly surround the player.

Once the “Brentwood Staff” screamer is defeated, search for the loot it dropped and you will get the Brentwood waste key item in Dead Island 2.

Where to Use the Brentwood Waste Key in Dead Island 2

You get access to the Flow Control Tunnels inside the Brentwood Water Reclamation Project during the Justifiable Zombicide main mission in Dead Island 2. This is an underground level that has two wings. You need to go through the Operations wing, which is on the left side of the Flow Control Tunnels, and use the Brentwood waste key to unlock the Brentwood waste bin.

As you unlock the Brentwood waste bin, you will get the Punctuator Heavy Wrench melee weapon as a reward for doing this short quest.
