How to Find Fuses in Dead Island 2

Fuses in Dead Island 2 are exclusively available from the Traders. This item type can neither be crafted nor looted from the game’s world. Each trader you find will sell you the fuse for $1,500 in Dead Island 2, and this cost does not get discounted throughout the course of the game, no matter how many fuses you buy.

While the $1,500 cost per fuse can feel steep in the early hours of the game, it becomes much more manageable as you progress into the mid-to-late game. So, make it a habit to carry at least two fuses before heading into a new region.

Here is a complete list of Traders to visit and buy fuses in Dead Island 2:

Traders in Bel Air

  • Carlos

You will find only one Trader holed up inside Emma Jaunt’s Bel-Air Mansion. This is also the place where you are likely to find your first fuse box near the Trader.

To reach Emma’s mansion, go east of Colt Swanson’s Bel-Air Home and cross the road to reach the mansion.

Traders in Beverly Hills

  • Roger
  • Francesca

There are two Traders in the Beverly Hills region of Dead Island 2: Roger and Francesca. They are not placed close to each other and can be found many houses away.

Roger can be found in Rikky’s House, down the road from Michael’s House. On the other hand, Francesca is inside a red-roof house northwest of Michael’s House. This is very easy to spot as opening the map will reveal the red roof of the house, which happens to be the only residence in Beverly Hills.

  • Ezekiel

Ezekiel is the only Trader present in Santa Monica. He is easily found at the Lifeguard HQ which is separate from the pier. You will also find a fuse box near Ezekiel’s store so accessing this one is very easy.

Traders in Ocean Avenue

  • Dougie

Even though Ocean Avenue is one of the bigger areas in Dead Island 2, Dougie is the only Trader in this region. He can be found near the Serling Hotel, in the southeast of the region.

Traders in Venice Beach

  • Kai

Unlike Ocean Avenue, Venice Beach is a smaller but dense area full of kiosks, a beach, and the Los Angeles Police Department Venice Beach Station.

To find Kai in Venice Beach, go to the Blue Crab Grill, which is down the road from the Rosses Tatto. W.O Rodriguez can be found in the northwest part of Venice Beach, inside the Venice Beach Lifeguard Tower.

To use the fuses from your inventory, open the map to find a fuse icon and then head over to that location. You will likely find a fuse box requiring a fuse near a closed shutter or a locked door.

Once you get close to the fuse box, you will be prompted to insert the fuse inside it. If you have at least one fuse in your inventory, your character will insert it in the fuse box. This will supply electricity to the closed door or a shutter, giving you access to the previously locked area.

These inaccessible areas, now accessed after inserting the fuse, will always have a lot of zombies. As you try to get inside, you will find a lot of supplies and a Zombproof Slayer Hoard crate. These can be acquired after you have made the particular room safe by eliminating all the flesh-eating zombies.

Besides the zombies that stop you from obtaining the supplies and a higher-quality weapon, you will also find booby traps inside these rooms. This could range from trip wires connected to shotguns and other hazards that will be lethal to your character.

You can always disarm these traps by luring the zombies and making them run into the traps. These traps can also be shot to trigger the mechanism, making them less lethal for you. Or, go near the traps and disable them yourself.

The weapon you get from the Zombproof Slayer Hoard crate will match your character’s level, so try to get these when you have leveled up a bit in Dead Island 2.

How Many Fuses Can You Carry in Dead Island 2

You can only carry up to three fuses with you in Dead Island 2 at a time. There is no method to increase the fuse carrying capacity of your character, so three is the golden number you get.

Carrying three fuses in the early game isn’t easy, as you won’t have much money to spare. However, this changes in the mid-to-late game, when money becomes more abundant. At that point, you can easily afford to buy and carry three fuses with you in Dead Island 2.
