Dead Island 2: How to Get Infected Spines

In Dead Island 2, Francesca will ask you to collect specific zombie body parts and drop them in her bloody bucket. These side quests are a great way to earn XP, and one of them requires gathering infected spines. In this guide, we;ll walk you through the process of getting the infected spines in Dead Island 2.

Which Zombies Drop Infected Spines in Dead Island 2

Screamers, Voltaic Screamers, and Mutators are some of the zombie types that come with a chance of dropping the infected spines when killed by decapitating their head using a sharp melee weapon or crushing it using a blunt weapon. Keep in mind that, like infected flesh, infected spines won’t drop from just any zombie—only specific types will yield them as we mentioned above.

Body Art: Uproar Side Quest in Dead Island 2

After completing The Giant Slayer, the 15th main mission, and Body Art: Heft side quest, you will notice another request has appeared on Francesca’s noticeboard called Body Art: Uproar. It is possible that you will not get this side quest immediately after completing the previous Body Art quest. If that happens, you need to reload the game or leave the area and come back later.

The Body Art: Heft side quest involves collecting five infected spines. This mission could be one of the reasons for hunting down zombies just for the sake of farming the infected spines in Dead Island 2.

Screamers are a safe bet — kill them by decapitating their head for a chance at getting the infected spine. You can confirm by going to the inventory and parts sources. Under the screamers section, you will find infected spines besides leaky implants, synthetic fibers, and alloy as items that could possibly drop by killing screamers.

Screamer Hot Spot

While you can randomly find the screamer zombies in the game’s world, the best place to look for them is near the Screamer Hot Spot. There is a house with a brown roof southwest of Rikky’s House. The road in front of it is the Screamer Hot Spot in Beverly Hills of Dead Island 2 so make sure you go there to farm infected spines

Reward

Once you have collected all five infected spines, go back to Francesca’s place and drop these items in the bloody bucket. This will end the Body Art: Uproad side quest in Dead Island 2, and you will get a 2,500 XP reward for it.
