Dead Island 2: Missing Jamal Lost and Found Quest Guide

Dead Island 2 is packed with side quests that might not always take you to new places, but the mystery of completing them always gives some great rewards. One of these, “Missing: Jamal”, is a Lost and Found quest where you will be tracking down Jamal to uncover what happened to him. How to Start Missing Jamal Side Quest in Dead Island 2

The mission to find Jamal is part of Lost and Find side quests in Dead Island 2. To trigger this side quest, you will first need to reach the Ocean Avenue region, progress the game’s story there, and you will unlock missing person letters pasted on the wall.

The missing board will appear once you have completed the main mission titled “Plumbing the Depths” in Ocean Avenue, which involves turning the water valve and directing the water to the Sterling Hotel in the Ocean Avenue region.

How to Find Jamal

Once you have completed the mission we mentioned above, you will be able to access the missing board, which has letters pasted on the wall. After reaching the wall, you will find the “Missing: Jamal” letter on the wall, and collecting it will trigger the finding Jamal side quest.

Your character will narrate that Jamal worked at Halperin Hotel as a security guard and was last seen there as well. This indicates you should rush to Halperin Hotel and search for two security guard rooms near the parking lot of the hotel.

Security Guard Room #1

The security guard room door will be locked, but it can be opened by shooting two electrical boxes, one on the outside of the room and another inside, to disable them. Once the door is opened after the electrical boxes have been destroyed, head inside and collect the “Employee Vehicle Register” clipboard in the cabinet.

Security Guard Room #2

The next security guard room is opposite to the first one. To reach the second one, circle through a barricaded steel door with its net broken, and near two buses you will find the second security guard room.

Similar to the first security guard room, the second one’s door will also be locked. Shoot the two electrical boxes like the first one and the door will open. Once you are inside, you will find a dead security guard with an “Our Fellow Security Guard” keycard on the ground. Collect it and it will be revealed that Jamal ran off in a red pickup truck from the Halperin Hotel.

Finding Red Pickup Truck

The keycard and clipboard you picked will give you the possible location of the red pickup Truck. Open the map, and you will find a small area east of the Halperin Hotel marked in red. Reach there, and you will find that Jamal cannot really go that far from the Halperin Hotel and has turned into a zombie.

Eliminate Zombies and Zombiefied Jamal

You will find a couple of flesh-eaters along with a unique zombie named “Jamal” wearing full riot gear, including the helmet. The final task of the “Missing: Jamal” side quest involves eliminating all zombies, including Jamal, and collecting the key that the zombie drops.

Rewards

The key that is dropped after killing zombified Jamal can be used to open a blue crate found in the bed of the red pickup truck. Collect the reward by opening the crate, which will complete the side quest for you.
