Will Bayonetta 3 be Released for PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox

Will Bayonetta 3 Be Released for PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox?

Will this long-awaited sequel come out on anything other than Nintendo Switch?

It’s hard to believe, but the first Bayonetta was released on October 29, 2009, only for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It’s been 13 long years, and at the end of another October, almost to the day, the third installment is arriving. Some gamers love to criticize the trend when some games get too many sequels, but when it comes to Bayonetta and only two sequels in so many years – it is definitely too few.

Anyhow, the first Bayonetta found its way later to PC, Wii U, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch, while Bayonetta 2 was originally released as a Wii U exclusive and only got a Switch port later. But what about Bayonetta 3? Any chance that this long-awaited sequel lands on a platform other than the Nintendo Switch? Will Bayonetta 3 ever be released for PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox?

Will Bayonetta 3 be Released for PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox?

So, will Bayonetta 3 come out on anything other than Nintendo Switch? The answer is – it most likely will not, unless something drastic changes in Nintendo’s overall policy or in their relationship with the Platinum Games.

Although Platinum Games recently became a publisher, they were only tasked with developing Bayonetta 3 while the whole process was financed solely by Nintendo which makes the game practically Nintendo’s property. Knowing how big N operates, the chances that their 1st party or in this case 2nd party title will be published on a system that is not theirs are zero.

However, the game’s executive director, Hideki Kamiya, claims that there is a small chance that Bayonetta 3 will become a multiplatform title, but only if Nintendo decides so, optimistically believing that such a chance exists. To be fair, we also thought that PlayStation 1st party titles would never be seen outside of Sony’s ecosystem, but lately, they’ve been on PC too – so never say never.

As we noticed in the previews and as we wrote in our technical analysis of the game, the Switch version works and looks great, but we can still only imagine how the new Bayonetta would shine on hardware like the PlayStation 5 or a high-end PC. But for now, one thing is for sure, if you want to play Bayonetta 3. you’ll have to wait until October 28th and get it for the Nintendo Switch.
