Who is Beardo in Animal Crossing New Horizons?

If you’re out here looking for love on a deserted island, you might find it tough to pass up on Beardo. With lines like “I thought I had a slight fever from being in love, but it’s gotten worse…” we know that you’re looking for a man this thoughtful for your next Valentine’s Day. Beardo is a recurring villager from Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and he wears a pretty snazzy detective outfit to boot if you’re looking for someone who’s both smart and smartly dressed. He’s a Smug type villager, which means that he gets along well with pretty much every personality type of villager (normal, lazy, snooty, peppy) but will have a hard time actually meshing with cranky villagers. Here are some other fun facts about Beardo that you might want to know:

  • His birthday is on September 27 which makes him a Libra
  • His catchphrase is “whiskers”
  • His special skill is memorizing stuff
  • His favorite song is KK Sonata
  • Of course, he is a bear

We’re particularly fond of anyone who thinks that KK Sonata rocks, and we note that Beardo has pretty impeccable taste in interior design historically. We’re talking rococo furniture (severely underrated while everyone’s going for newfangled stuff right now), retro accoutrements, and a great sense of style. Let’s just say that we’re hoping that he shows up at our campsite very soon, or that someone commits a crime on our deserted island that he has to solve. The possibilities are endless. Maybe someone like Gonzo may have gotten in a whole heap of trouble? It’s just like koalas, we suppose. If you want to know more about that lovable scamp, check out this guide that we put together about him here

Now that you know a little more about who is Beardo in Animal Crossing New Horizons, you should be able to prepare in advance for his arrival if you’ve spotted him on a Mystery Island. While we’re not quite sure what this dapper detective would be doing out and about on an island full of rocks, we suppose even hardworking detectives need a bit of a break now and then.
