How to Find the Black Flame in Monster Hunter Wilds

The Monster Hunter Wilds quest Chapter 2-4: Long-forgotten Flame will task players with searching for the Black Flame. It is a monster that wreaked havoc on the forge before retreating. Before searching and going after it, you should first restock your healing supplies and build up as much fire resistance through armor as possible for the fight ahead.

There will be no waypoint initially on where the Black Flame is, so players will have to investigate the surrounding area for any clues on where it could be. Thankfully, it is not far. Players should set a waypoint for Area 7, just south of the Base Camp in the region.

After taking your Seikret to Area 7, search around the ground for a pile of half-digested food. It will be highlighted with a glow, so it should not take long. Interact with the pile to discover the [???] Oilmucus item.

This will belong to the Black Flame and your character will give it to the scoutflies, which will uncover the waypoint to the monster. The Black Flame will be in Area 15, so set a waypoint if it does not automatically do so and ride your Seikret down to the lower level. There is a pop-up camp that can be used in Area 9 if players need to quickly restock their item pouch.
