For a Low-Rank Armor set piece, you have to complete eight levels to fully upgrade it. The first six levels will require 30 points each, while the last two levels will require 200 points. The High-Rank Armor set piece has four levels, with each level requiring 200 points.

Once you have the required Armor Spheres to upgrade your armor, talk to Gemma and choose “Forge/Upgrade Armor” to open the menu to forge or upgrade your armor. Select the forged armor piece you want to upgrade, and then select the Armor Sphere you want to use for the upgrade.

You will see the points required to reach the next upgrade level in the panel right to the armor’s list.
