Where to Find Snorlax in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Teal Mask

Like always, Snorlax is sleeping in front of some place you want to go to.

The king of sleep from Kanto, Snorlax, returns in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Teal Mask. There are a few options for anyone looking to add this pleasantly plump Pokemon to their Pokedex or their team, so we’re here to tell you how to find it.

Anyone looking to just jump ahead to catching Snorlax itself won’t find their Pokedex to be of any help. Snorlax is listed as “Habitat unknown” in Kitakami even though it does appear in the wild. That’s because it’s a static encounter that respawns after a certain amount of time.

To find Snorlax, head to the Timeless Woods. Snorlax sleeps in front of the cave that is the furthest south. This is also the same cave where you can find a Masterpiece Teacup, so it’s a great chance to kill two Pidoves with one Rock Slide and grab yourself a Snorlax along with the rare item.

Snorlax’s level may vary based on your own progression within Scarlet and Violet, but it’s a tough Pokemon to catch. Be prepared with plenty of Ultra Balls and Timer Balls to be sure that you catch it!

Where to Find Munchlax to Evolve into Snorlax in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Teal Mask

One option to get yourself a Snorlax that will likely require fewer Poke Balls is catching a Munchlax and then evolving it into Snorlax. This is also just a helpful way to make sure Munchlax isn’t missing from your Kitakami Pokedex, too. Munchlax isn’t particularly common, but it’s found across many of Kitakami’s grassy areas

Although, if you’re particularly skilled, you can also get a shiny Munchlax as a reward for completing the Ogre Oustin’ minigame’s hardest difficulty.

Once you catch Munchlax, you can evolve it into Snorlax by leveling it up when its Friendship stat is high. Keep it in your party, and give it plenty of (non-bitter) healing items and berries!

How to Make a Sandwich with Encounter Power: Normal Level 2 in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Teal Mask

If you’re having a hard time coming across a Munchlax on your adventures, try the Ultra Curry-and-Rice-Style Sandwich. It makes Encounter Power: Normal Level 2, which greatly increases the number of Normal-type Pokemon you can find. This isn’t always going to result in the Pokemon you want since Kitakami is crawling with plenty of other Normal types, but every bit helps.

Snorlax Tera Raids

If you’re lucky, you may also find Snorlax in 5-Star and 6-Star Tera Raids, likely yielding a better overall Snorlax. If so, you’d be facing off against a level 75 or 90 Snorlax with near-perfect stats and a random Tera type. Beating it won’t be easy, but once you knock out this sleepy guy, you’ll be able to catch it with a guaranteed 100% catch rate no matter the ball you choose. But no matter what level Snorlax you fight, it’ll always be level 75 when you catch it. And it’ll have some darn good stats.

And now that you have Snorlax, if you’re interested in other returning Pokemon, check out our guide on how to get the Sinnoh starters in The Teal Mask.
