There are a few benefits to choosing a particular house in Hogwarts Legacy. You’ll live in a unique common room, wear colored robes representing your house, and even get house-specific quests that differ depending on your choice. If you’re part of the Gryffindor house, you’ll have to complete a series of tasks leading up to Jackdaw’s questline, including getting some rotten roast beef for Nearly Headless Nick. It’s a little gross, but he at least explains why this is necessary. If you’d like to learn more, continue reading to discover where to find rotten roast beef in Hogwarts Legacy.

Where to Find Rotten Roast Beef in Hogwarts Legacy
When you first receive this quest, you’ll have to speak to Nearly Headless Nick and follow him through the corridors toward the Hufflepuff common room. However, before reaching the common room entrance, you’ll find a portrait where you can, and I quote, “tickle the pear”. If this sounds weird to you, don’t worry, it sounds weird to most of us. Your character even remarks on this odd situation.

After spending some precious time tickling the pear in the painting, you’ll find a doorway into the kitchen. This room is full of cooking pots, loyal house-elves and trays of food. Along the way, you can also find a Revelio field guide page near a table, among other collectibles. The quest marker will also encompass the entire kitchen, so you’ll have to do some searching for the beef.
To find the rotten roast beef, head south toward the back of the room, past the tables, until you find a small alcove full of barrels. You’ll know you’re getting close when your character mentions a disgusting smell nearby. Sitting atop one of these barrels is the roast beef, which you can pick up to initiate a cutscene with one of the house-elves. Following this, you’ll get the beef and progress through this part of the quest!
