How to Drink Potions in Hogwarts Legacy
The process is slightly different depending on the potion type you want to drink. Generally speaking, the first step is to get your hands on the potion you need. With most potions, you can only get them from brewing in the Room of Requirement using their required ingredients. The only exception is Wiggenweld or health potions, which you can also loot from chests and enemies.

Once you have your potions, there are two ways to use them. To drink health potions, you’ll have to press G if you’re on PC and down on the D-pad using a controller. Doing this consumes the potion automatically if you’re missing any health.
Using other potions, like a Thunderbrew or Edurus potion, requires you to equip it using your tool wheel. You’ll also find combat items like mandrakes and chomping cabbage here! On PC, you’ll have to hold Tab and mouse over the item to equip it, while Xbox and PlayStation controllers use LB and L1, respectively. Once you have the potion in your toolbar, press one of these three buttons again to drink it. You can also do this with combat items if you want to stun or damage enemies.
