Since the release of Gran Turismo 7 in March 2022, there were many free updates for this fantastic real driving simulator, and the update from February 2023 brings the most significant things so far. In addition to the already mentioned support for playing the complete game with the new PSVR2, there are also the following:

GT Sophy AI is Introduced With Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.29

GT Sophy Race Together is the new mode that features a new machine-learning AI that will be the end of us all! Sophy is Polyphony Digital’s experiment that they have been developing since 2021 and the time of Gran Turismo Sport, now Gran Turismo 7 players will finally get the chance to test it themselves and race against superhumanly smart AI in this time-limited mode that will be available until March 31. Many have called this AI the “most human-like AI ever” in any racing game so far, so give it a shot.

Grand Valley Comes Back in Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.29

If you are an old-school fan of the Gran Turismo series, you know very well about the Grand Valley track that has been in the franchise since the first game. As it is a fantasy track, its absence in Gran Turismo Sport was expected, but now this GT classic is finally coming back in Gran Turismo 7 as a slightly updated version in four different layouts:

  • Grand Valley – Highway 1
  • Grand Valley – Highway 1 Reverse
  • Grand Valley – South
  • Grand Valley – South Reverse

1.29 update brings even more stuff like a neat new DualSense sound and a haptic effect when starting the engine while switching cars in Garage, also six new races, extra Menu Books, a new Drift Stage in Scapes, additional designer interactions in GT Cafe, and even 13 new “real car” paints in GT Auto. Talk about a big update!
