Finding the full name of the elusive Igor
After getting Amaan’s Level 2 Access Card in Rivage, the next challenge you face is found in the Lobby area past the Kitchen. Here, you’re required to find the password to a computer, with the hint being that it’s the Horizon Probe creator’s first and last name.
How to Find Horizon Probe Creator’s Name in Rivage
In the lobby, you’ll find a screen with an audio log exposition on the Horizon Probe, in which the narrator will also mention the name “Igor”. This is the Horizon Probe creator’s first name. Simple enough! All that leaves us with is finding his last name, a significantly trickier task, consisting of two individual puzzles to crack.
Powering the Lobby Circuit
On the opposite end of the room, you’ll find a similar screen to the last one, but with an error screen indicating that its circuit is unplugged. Following a red wire to the area behind this screen, you will be greeted with a latch on the wall. Open it, and you’ll find the first puzzle: a circuit requiring a specific amount of voltage from its five colored cells.
By reading the circuit’s label, you’ll learn that it needs exactly 12V of power, and underneath this, it shows how much power each of the five cells will give the circuit. The five slots on the circuit each feed it a different number of times, so you’ll have to do some math to find the right combination to put them in.
There are, in fact, more different combinations to solve this puzzle, one of which you can see in the image above. This will adequately power the screen, which was previously showing an error, so you can then go and interact with it to listen to the second audio log on the Horizon Probe.
Deciphering the Second Audio Log
Alas, trying to listen to the second audio log for the Horizon Probe Creator’s last name is not so straightforward, since the recording itself is heavily sped up. Quite conveniently, however, in the center of this very lobby is a yellow circle with strange properties. This circle was actually marked by the crew members to be studied for its property of slowing down sound.
Putting two and two together, you’ll quickly figure out that you need to open your K9 (which automatically saves all audio recordings) and play the second audio log while standing inside this circle. Doing so, you’ll learn that the Horizon Probe Creator’s last name is ‘Petrov’, making the full password to the computer in the lobby “Igor Petrov”.
Now, all that’s left to do is to input the password and navigate to the wifi logo at the bottom, from which you can scan a QR code to update your K9. This will, in turn, allow you to enter Amaan’s Bedroom and the Connector area to continue your journey.
