When you spawn into the Conservatory for the first time, there’s much to take in. You’ll find empty plots for corrals and gardens, the Plort Market behind you, and several exits that lead to various areas. Look towards the Plort Market and turn left to find a staircase. Head down the stairs to access the laboratory.

Upon entering the laboratory, you’ll find the Refinery and Fabricator. In the first game, you use these two machines to make decorations, teleporters, and other helpful structures. While it is the same in this game, you’ll also find equipment upgrades in the Fabricator.

How Do I Use Slime Rancher 2’s Fabricator?

Once you’ve found the Fabricator next to the Refinery, interact with it and head into the Upgrades category. You’ll find options such as increased health and energy capacity, a jetpack, and more. However, not only do you need Newbucks to upgrade them, but you’ll also need various plorts and resources.

Furthermore, the resources you use are not consumed from your inventory. Instead, you must transfer them to the Refinery and use whatever is there. Like the first game, you can’t remove any materials added to the Refinery, so make sure you’re careful with what you deposit!
