Here’s everything that’s been revealed for Marvel Rivals season 5.5 so far. We’ll likely learn more leading up to the official release, so as any additional information is unveiled, we’ll update all relevant details here.

New Vanguard Hero – Rogue

Rogue is here, and she’s an imposing Vanguard unit ready to lead the charge into battle and tank damage to keep her team safe. She accidentally touched the Chronovium die, and as a result, her powers have gone a bit haywire since she absorbs the power of what she touches.

Her skillset combines her immense strength with her newfound Chronovium energy. These abilities allow her to charge fearlessly into enemy frontlines with deadly melee moves. Her power absorption lets her take down enemies and absorb abilities from them, granting her a basic buff based on the role of the character she executed. She can also steal signature abilities, though, so you may find her wielding powers like Doctor Strange’s Shield of Seraphim or Loki’s Regenerative Domain.

When Rogue uses her ultimate move, she continuously drains ultimate ability energy from nearby enemies. This helps her team gain an edge over the opposition, and she also gains them further buffs based on their respective roles.

Team-Up changes

In season 5.5, one Team-Up is being removed, while three others are receiving changes.

  • Mental Projection, which is the Team-Up between Emma Frost and Psylocke, is being removed.
  • Chilling Assault, which is the Team-Up with Luna Snow and Iron Fist, is gaining Emma Frost as a new member. With this new collaboration, Emma Frost gains the Iced Out Diamond ability, which allows her to unleash a cone of frost to slow enemies. She can also use her diamond form to create a wall of diamond ice, hindering enemy movement.
  • Sword of Duality, which is the Team-Up between Hawkeye and Cloak & Dagger, is gaining Psylocke as a new member. She gains access to both light and dark energy with this Team-Up. With light energy, Psylocke can now throw a shuriken that damages enemies and heals allies. When it comes back to her, it heals Psylocke, too, based on the number of targets hit. With dark energy, Psylocke scatters a ring of darts, damaging nearby foes and entering a phased invisible state like Cloak.
  • Explosive Entanglement, which is the Team-Up between Magneto and Gambit, is gaining Rogue as a new member. Gambit channels his Kinetic Energy to Rogue, allowing her to activate an ability that causes every attack she makes to damage enemies nearby while also healing allies.

Jeff’s Winter Splash Festival

The Jeff’s Winter Splash Festival event, which first debuted back in 2024, is back, starting on Dec. 18. It’s coming back on a brand new map called Jeffland, which, as the name implies, is all about Jeff.

This time around, there’s a new three-way brawl system, with three unique Jeff builds, all of which have their own unique skillsets. The Cuddly Fuzzlefin outfit for Jeff the Land Shark also has some new unlockable color customization options this time.

Holiday Skins and Events

Some festive new holiday outfits are on the way for quite a few characters, including Squirrel Girl, Daredevil, Winter Soldier, Star-Lord, Peni Parker, and Cloak & Dagger. Some additional holiday events will unfold during 5.5, too, although exact details on them aren’t known just yet.

Mystery Burger

Starting on Dec. 18, all players can head to Pym’s Test Kitchen on the Times Square map to interact with a special Mystery Burger. The devs haven’t revealed what this will do, but it’s been mentioned as a new feature, so it’s certainly worth checking out.
