How to Farm Money in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

One of the quickest ways to earn money in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is by selling gear, potions, and miscellaneous items to vendors in towns. However, at the start of the game, you won’t have much to sell. So, how can you make money fast? The answer lies in a risky but rewarding strategy: stealing valuable armor and weapons from guards.
The good news is that you don’t need advanced skills to pull this off. With a bit of timing and planning, you can steal gear, sell it to merchants, and rack up Groschen (the in-game currency) quickly. Here’s how to do it effectively.
Unload Everything

To maximize your money-making potential, you’ll need to carry as much stolen gear as possible. That means clearing out your inventory. Store everything you don’t need in your storage chest to free up space.
If you do not know where to find your storage chest, then consider reading our How to get the storage chest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 guide here.
Since this money-farming method relies on sneaking into the town hall and avoiding combat, you won’t need fancy armor or weapons. Travel light and focus on stealth.
Pass the Time to Midnight

Timing is everything. During the day, towns like Troskowitz are bustling with guards, making it risky to steal. But at midnight, the town quiets down. Most guards will be asleep in the town hall quarters, with only a few patrolling the streets or stationed at the gates. This is your golden opportunity to steal their gear and then sell it later.
To pass the time, you can either sleep in a small hut behind the trader’s building in Troskowitz or use the time wheel (press ‘T’) to fast-forward to midnight. Just make sure Henry is not too hungry or tired before you start—keep an eye on his hunger and sleep stats.

NOTE: If Henry’s hunger drops below 20, his stomach will growl, and if his sleep level falls too low, he will struggle to stay awake. Grab a quick meal from the inventory and rest up before heading out.
Pickpocket Guard Keys instead of Lockpicking the doors

The town hall doors are not open to the public, so you will need a key to get inside. You have two options: pickpocket a guard for the key or lockpick the doors. Pickpocketing is the easier and faster choice here.
After leaving the small hut behind the trader’s building, turn left. You will find a guard leaning against a wall, likely grumbling about his night shift. This guard is the perfect target for pickpocketing—he is distracted, hardly leaves the station, and is easy to approach.

On the other hand, lockpicking is more complicated. Not only do you need lockpicks, but the lockpicking mini-game itself can be tricky, especially for beginners. Plus, you will need to unlock multiple doors and storage chests inside the town hall, which could take 6-8 minutes and require 5-6 lockpicks.
This method is time-consuming, inefficient, and risky since guards might spot you. Save yourself the trouble and pickpocket the guard instead.
Share Your Equipment Load with the Horse

Once you have the key, head to the town hall, go through the stable, and turn left to find a small room. This room is usually unguarded and the chest inside it is filled with armor pieces like helmets, chest plates, arm guards, and leg armor. Loot as much as you can, but be careful not to over-encumber yourself.
If you have a horse, this is where it becomes incredibly useful. Head to an open area away from guards, whistle to call your horse, and transfer all the stolen gear to its storage. This way, you can carry more loot without slowing yourself down.
Steal as Much Gear as Possible

After looting the first room, go back to the town hall and enter the building on the right. Inside, you will find a room with several guards sleeping in their beds. Be extra careful here—any noise could wake them up.
Pro Tip: Avoid using photo mode here, as exiting it will cause Henry to shout something like “Great!” or “Nice one!” and this will wake up the guards immediately.
Near the door, you will find another chest filled with weapons like maces, swords, shields, bows, and arrows. Loot as much as you can, but again, do not overload yourself. If your inventory gets full, head back to your horse and transfer the stolen gear to its storage.
Pass one to two in-game Days & Sell the Gear

After looting both chests, you have completed about 90% of the job. Now, your next task is to return to the small hut without being seen by any guards or NPCs.
Once inside the hut, you will need to pass the time for one to two in-game days. You can do this by alternating between sleeping in the bed and manually skipping time by pressing the ‘T’ key.
NOTE: Keep in mind that while sleeping advances time, Henry cannot sleep once his sleep stat reaches 100%. At that point, you will need to use the manual time-skip function. Be sure to monitor your hunger stat as well.
You will need to pass at least one and a half to two in-game days. During this time, most of the stolen gear in your inventory—or your horse’s inventory—will lose its stolen status. You can identify stolen items by the red hand icon in your inventory.

Once enough time has passed, this icon will disappear, meaning traders will now purchase the items at full price instead of offering reduced amounts due to their stolen status.
Sell the Weapons and Armor to Blacksmith Radovan for the Best Price

Although the trader in Troskowitz buys weapons and armor, he would not offer you a fair price. Instead, head to Tachov and sell your loot to Blacksmith Radovan.
Each trader has a limited amount of money available per day to buy goods from you. If you sell too much and deplete Radovan’s funds, he will not be able to purchase any more items until his money resets.

Fortunately, you already have a bed in Tachov. Simply rest and manually pass time as needed, and Radovan’s funds will replenish, allowing you to continue selling the stolen gear you took from the Troskowitz guards.
Repeat the entire process we mentioned above and you will have a couple thousand Groschen very soon in the game.
