How to Use and Assign Emotes in Diablo 4

Strike that pose

Social interaction is usually a good thing in online games and is even highly encouraged. That’s why those games will always add so many emotes to those. Diablo IV also has a nice share of them, and they’re useful to give some quick responses or just to mess around. Sometimes they’re even needed for some quests, so here’s how to use and assign emotes in Diablo 4.

How to Use Emotes in Diablo 4

To use an emote, press E if you’re on the keyboard or the Up arrow if playing on a controller. This will open the social wheel for quick access to a variety of options and interactions. You have three fully customizable wheels, and it’s recommended to keep the most important actions in the middle one since it opens first by default.

Select any action or emote to swiftly use them from the wheel. The left wheel has various emotes by default (including the “Greet” emote needed for the early “Raising Spirits” quest), but there are some that you cannot find there.

To create a new emote shortcut, open the wheel and click on Customize to open the customization menu. Click on your desired emote and drag it to your desired wheel/spot. You can also create more shortcuts for potions or other actions such as inviting other players to your party and fully customize it to your liking. Make sure it’s as clear as it can get.

That’s all you need to know about how to equip new emotes on Diablo 4. Now you can strike those perfect poses after getting a nice outfit after your first hours into the game. If you haven’t found anything that really looks nice, try turning off your helmet for a change.
