Octopath Traveler 2 is a massive game, with dozens of NPCs who are desperately in need of your help. Some of these tasks are easy, like knocking out a worker with a bad sleep schedule. Some require you to beat massive bosses. But if you want to unlock Extra Stories, you’ll need to complete them all. Here’s how to unlock Extra Stories in Octopath Traveler 2.

If there’s one thing the Octopath series has been good at, it’s packing in tons of extra content that you can only unlock through gumption, experimentation, and patience. Extra Stories is one of those additions which is part of the post-game content. Completing these stories is also necessary to get the True Ending. So, let’s get started.

First, you’re going to need to complete all eight main stories. That means seeing each traveler’s character arc to its end. After that, you’ll need to complete each of the Crossed Paths stories.

After that, you can technically move forward and start the Extra Story / Epilogue Chapters. But it’s recommended that you complete all Side Stories first, as you can’t finish them once you start the Extra Stories. And while that’s a Herculean task, we have a guide on how to complete all those missions below.

Once the Side Stories are completed, head to Southern Cropdale Trail to start the Extra Stories. There will be a new icon on the map which says “Extra Stories.” You’ll then find a bonfire in this location. Interact with it, and the Extra Stories will start.

There will be six locations you’ll need to go to in total, but if you complete each step, you’ll be able to obtain the True Ending. Good luck!
