EV training is mainly used for competitive Pokemon battles, but with the introduction of Tera Raid battles in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, many new fans are taking up the challenge. With seven-star raids, you’ll need to build a powerhouse of a Pokemon. This will involve EV and IV training, but if you make a mistake while doing it, how do you fix it? Here is how to reset EVs in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
How to Reset EVs in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
If you want to reset a Pokemon’s EVs in Scarlet and Violet, you’ll need to look at berries. Certain berries will reduce a Pokemon’s EVs but set numbers. So while it will take quite a few to reset all of a Pokemon’s effort values completely, it is possible.
You can only earn up to 510 EVs per Pokemon, which means you will eventually cap out. If you have a favorite Pokemon or a shiny one you want to ensure is at the top of their game, you will need to reallocate those EVs to the correct place.
Below you can find each berry and the associated stat it reduces.
- Attack: Kelpsy Berry
- Defense: Qualot Berry
- HP: Pomeg Berry
- Special Attack: Hondew Berry
- Special Defense: Grepa Berry
- Speed: Tamato Berry
Each berry will reduce the specific Pokemon’s corresponding Effort Value by 10 points. Meaning you’ll need roughly 20 to fully reduce a maxed-out stat.
