Whether you’re trying to complete some weapon camo challenges, or you just want to go for some fun clips, double kills are a common component of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Considering how many you’ll need to get if you’re on the path to the Orion mastery camo, you’re bound to run into some issues with the kills at some point.
There are times when double kills won’t count in your tracked progress bars for specific MW2 weapons. There is no need to worry though, because the fix is easy and your progress is safe. This guide will go over how to ensure all progress counts and how to ensure you’re confirming your doubles.
COD Modern Warfare 2 – How to Make Sure Double Kills Count
Starting with the bugs to progress, they are mainly an appearance problem over anything else. You may notice that double kills have stopped counting when you’re attempting a certain camo challenge. The best method is to simply restart the game and load back in. Even after the restart, your progress should update and reflect your true marker.
If you’re actively on the hunt for double kills, or any other kind of multi-kills within Modern Warfare 2, then there are some rules to follow. Killing AI within the Invasion mode will not count toward your progress, and the same holds true for DMZ. Operator kills are the only way to earn real tracking.

To get a genuine double kill, both eliminations must be done within three seconds of each other. Any longer and the timer will reset, bringing you back to a single elimination. You can see on the screen if you’re successful in the double any time you earn one in MW2, so it won’t be too hard to keep track.
