When held, the Covert Cloak conceals its user, protecting it from the additional effects of moves, such as status ailments or stat decreases. Finally, trainers get to use the fantastic Shield Dust ability without using a moth Pokemon.

How to Get the Covert Cloak in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

There are two straightforward ways to get the Covert Cloak. The first is to head on down to the city of lights and E-girls, Levincia. You don’t even need to defeat a Gym Leader to get your hands on this item – it’s available at the start of the game.

The second option is to get one for free. Fly or bike to the snow-nestled town of Montenevera and orient yourself to its Pokemon Center. Immediately upon arriving at the Pokemon Center, turn West. There, behind a wooden fence, will be two mounds of snow. Jump over the fence, and just past the snow mounds, you’ll see Cover Cloak in a Pokeball beneath a tree.

What an easy way to save 20k.

But if you want to try your luck at the auctions, head down to Porto Marinada to see if it’s for sale. It’s unlikely, but if it is for sale, you will likely get it for less than 20,000 Pokedollars.
