How to Get the Compound Bow in Sons of the Forest

Pick up a bow on steroids.

The map in Sons of the Forest has more than a few points of interest that lead to powerful weapons or new utility items that allow you explore to a higher degree. One of the best weapons to look for in the game is the Compound Bow due to the damage each shot can deal and the silence it brings compared to guns.

Before you can go looking for a beefed-up bow, you’ll need to find the shovel, which we have a guide for here. Once you get your hands on one of the more basic tools within the game, you can go on the hunt for your next weapon, and we’ll show you where to start looking.

Sons of the Forest – How to Get the Compound Bow

With the shovel in hand, you’re ready to explore the map and start digging up some treasure. Though, instead of shiny treasure, you’ll need to dig up some maintenance hatches that lead to dark bunkers. For the Compound Bow, we need to head over to Maintenance B, which you can find in the image below.

When you arrive in that area, a green ping will start to appear on your GPS, and that’s a dead giveaway that the maintenance tunnel is near. Take the shovel out of your inventory and start digging around the area in between the bundle of crates on the ground. Digging enough will reveal the Maintenance B hatch in Sons of the Forest.

At this point, open up the hatch and climb down to the bottom. There won’t be total darkness with the minimal lighting on the edges of the hallway, but it’s still tough to see. Head all the way to the end of the tunnel and pick up the Compound Bow leaning on the tub next to a body. Then you can start wreaking havoc on the amp.
