There are ten thousand guides on how to get Gold and Platinum Medallions fast. But if you’re trying to get Silver Medallions for your Medallion Case, that coveted silver might be eluding you. Here’s how to get Silver Medallions in Destiny 2.
How to Get Silver Medallions in Destiny 2
If you’ve thrown yourself into the recreational playlists on top of the Tower’s map, you’ve likely gathered yourself a healthy pile of bronze or even gold. For whatever reason, the midpoint, silver, is the hardest to get.
Only certain activities have a chance of dropping silver medallions in Destiny 2. Those activities are:
- Gambit
- Quickplay Crucible
- Vanguard Playlists
- Neptune activities
- Defiant Battlegrounds
These activities also have a chance of dropping bronze medallions.
Supposedly, the higher your score in these activities, the more likely your chance of obtaining a silver medallion. If you intend to play a lot of crucible, aim to be at the top of your team’s leaderboard. Just having a high secure rate or KDA isn’t enough.

In Strikes, get as many points as possible, setting aside bounties for the sake of the score. In Gambit, naturally you’ll want to win, dunk as many motes as possible, and do as much damage to the Primeval as possible. Optimize your build to ensure that you’re always on top of your team.
The same can be said for Defiant Battleground activities and activities on Neptune (which doesn’t include Terminal Overload).
If you’re trying to get all the awards in the Guardian Games, you’re going to be seeing a lot of the submachine gun, The Title. But it’s a pretty decent gun, especially with the right perks. Check out its god roll here: How to Get The Title and Its God Roll in Destiny 2.
