Where to Find Damaged Prisms in Genshin Impact

The Damaged Prism is a new type of Level-Up Material added in Genshin Impact update 3.1. It is used to ascend weapons, namely the Key of Khaj-Nisut and Xiphos’ Moonlight at the time of writing, though more uses will no doubt be added in the future – we wouldn’t be shocked if it ends up being used to ascend characters too.

To get Damaged Prisms, you need to defeat Primal Constructs, a type of enemy also added in the 3.1 update. As for where you can find these, they’re located in the Sumeru Desert, in both the Land of Lower Setekh and the Hypostyle Desert, and appear near ruins and temples.

One of the best places for farming them is near The Mausoleum of King Deshret as there are over 30 Primal Constructs scattered around there alone. The Eye of the Sands also houses nine of them, and there is another four west of Dar al-Shifa.

Primal Constructs also drop the rarer versions of Damaged Prisms – Turbid Prisms and Radiant Prisms – which you’ll need in the later levels of ascension. Alternatively, you can turn multiple Damaged Prisms into their higher counterparts at a Crafting Bench for a handful of Mora.
