To obtain the higher level health potions and elixirs in Diablo 4, you must collect Blightshade around Sanctuary. Like any other material in the game, this swamp lily can be farmed in multiple ways, and I’m here to explain how.
How to Farm Blightshade in Diablo 4
Blightshade can be found by collecting the blue plants around Hawezar in the southeast of Sanctuary or at an Alchemist merchant. If you don’t mind farming, riding around in Hawezar is the best method for collecting the blue swamp lilies. Each node will provide you with roughly five Blightshade, which aren’t too difficult to find.
Some players may be impatient and need a potion upgrade right away. In that case, you should head to an Alchemist in any large city and scroll to the resource refinement tab. You can swap some of your current materials for something new here. You want to have Gallowvine on hand for the exchange. Five Gallowvine will get you one Blightshade plant in Diablo 4.
Where to Find Blightshade in Diablo 4:
- Harvest blue plants in the Hawezar region.
- Refine five Gallowvine at an Alchemist in exchange for Blightshade.
- Complete World Events in Hawezar.
- Open Whisper Caches from the Tree of Whispers.
Two other options are available for collecting this material, but they are far less reliable. You can complete World Events in Hawezar for a chance at a couple of Blightshade, or by earning Whisper Caches. Both methods require far more work and only net you a fraction of the plants as a part of the reward.
I recommend confirming that you have enough of the blue plant to upgrade your healing potion before level 70. But you can always farm Gallowvine, which is generally much easier to find.
What is Blightshade Used for in Diablo 4?
Blightshade is used for high-level healing potion upgrades and for crafting Precision Elixirs. Considering how important both of those are, it makes Blightshade one of the best plants to collect as you move around Sanctuary. However, any items that are worth collecting in a game like this are typically less likely to appear compared to anything else.
Elixirs That Use Blightshade in Diablo 4:
- Precision Elixir – Increase Critical Strike chance and damage.
- Elixir of Shadow Resistance – Increase base and maximum Shadow resistance.
In my experience, it’s easy to hit a choke point on the healing potion upgrade because of the need for Blightshade. All the other plants are far more abundant and at least 36 of the blue plant is needed to complete all your potion upgrades. That means you’ll need to take a plant-collecting detour at some point in the future. Luckily, there are only a couple of recipes that use that plant, so you still have other options.
Once you’re done with the standard plants, it’s time to start farming Angelbreath in Diablo 4.
