Fortnite’s Born in Chaos update has arrived, ushering in an era of South Park-themed chaos at every turn. One of the most powerful Mythic items ever is featured in this collaboration, and it’s called the Stick of Truth.

Like all Mythic items, this one is quite rare and tough to find and use at first. It’s certainly worth trying out while you can, though, so here’s how to get and use the Stick of Truth in Fortnite.

You can find the Stick of Truth at Cartmanland, which is a South Park-themed location that replaced Wonkeeland on the island. This theme park area can be found near the northwest corner of the island, close to Tiptop Terrace and Clawsy Lodge.

The Stick of Truth is specifically located on a red cushion sitting on a pedestal near the castle stage, near the east end of Cartmanland. This location also has a large mural of Kenny with a blonde wig and a pink dress as the backdrop behind the stage.

This Mythic item is not always available at this location, as it’s actually a special Rift Anomaly. This means you won’t see it in every match, and the chances of it appearing are a bit low since there are around seven different possible anomalies that can happen.

Rift Anomalies can happen randomly at any point after each storm phase passes. There’s no way to know when or if this one will happen, so finding the Stick of Truth really comes down to random chance and luck. It also seems not to spawn until fairly late in the game, which makes sense since it’s such a powerful item.

You’ll know it’s happening if you see a Rift Anomaly pop-up that’s called “Stick of Truth” and has a special stick icon alongside the message “The truth is upon us! Grab the Stick of Truth to control the storm!” So far, we’ve only seen it spawn at Cartmanland when this happens, but we’re still testing to see if it might have any additional possible locations, so we’ll provide an update here as we learn more.

What Does Stick of Truth Do in Fortnite?

The Stick of Truth can be used to move the storm, which means you can activate it to control where the storm goes. It’s single-use only, so as soon as you use it, you lose it. It’s quite a dangerous tool if you’re not the one wielding it, so watch out for a message letting you know the Stick of Truth has been claimed after the Rift Anomaly starts if you don’t manage to reach it first. Be ready to run fast to the new storm circle, as it’ll close in rapidly.

There’s plenty more to uncover in this season of Fortnite, including loads of additional South Park-themed tasks like gathering Memberberries and acquiring Kenny’s Respawn Token. There are also some classic quests worth tackling, like talking to your fans and signing some autographs, entering a Forsaken Vow Rift Gate, and using Unstable Element.
