How to Get Alucard’s Sword in Dead Cells Return to Castlevania

Hard to miss, but easy to miss all the same

Alucard’s Sword and Shield are a big deal in the original Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. So it makes plenty of sense for these items to show up in the new Dead Cells DLC. Both of these items are hidden out of plain sight, although the game practically gives you the Shield. But when it comes to the other piece of Alucard’s legendary kit, there’s a lot more work involved. Here’s how to find Alucard’s Sword in Dead Cells Return to Castlevania.

To make a long story short, Alucard’s Sword is tucked away within Richter Mode, a sort of bonus attraction you can find in Dracula’s Castle. But as you’ll be able to see if you read our guide on unlocking Richter Mode, that’s a three run minimum from a fresh DLC install. But let’s assume you can run through that by now, and are soundly whipping skeletons as the best-slash-worst Belmont to live. To find Alucard’s Sword, we need to find Alucard himself. And to do that, head to the rightmost side of the castle. Once you make it all the way to the right and can’t go further, your next step is to head up.

As you ascend, pay attention to the walls. You should eventually see a sort of checkered pattern, an indication in Dead Cells you can walk right into the wall. Do this and follow the long tunnel until it pops you out in a small, secret area. Alucard is standing there, but before Richter has time to say anything stupid, Dracula’s grumpy son turns into a bat and flies away.

But in doing so, he drops the Blueprint for Alucard’s Sword, which Richter should pick up before heading back into Dracula’s Castle proper to face Medusa.
