Nightingale DirectX 12 is Not Supported On Your System Fixes

There are several reasons why Directx 12 Is Not Supported on Your System might appear when trying to play Nightingale. The main causes of this issue and their fixes are as follows:

You’re Not Playing on Windows

If you try to play Nightingale on anything that isn’t Windows (such as on a Mac or through Linux), then you may run into this error. This is because Nightingale currently isn’t supported on these operating systems. The same thing goes for running the game on an emulated version of Windows. You’ll need a Windows PC or console to play the game properly.

You Don’t Meet the Minimum Specs On Your PC

You may get the Directx 12 Is Not Supported on Your System error if you don’t meet the game’s minimum specs. If you’re unsure of what those are, you can find them on the official Nightingale Performance Expectations blog post under Benchmark Expectations. You’ll need to upgrade your PC if you want to play the game, should you not meet the Minimum category.

Your Windows Version May Be Outdated

If you haven’t updated Windows in a long time, those missing updates could be causing the game to not launch. According to the developers, you must be on Windows version 1909 or later. Otherwise, it won’t launch. To find your Windows version:

  • Open up your Taskbar Search
  • Type Settings and press Enter
  • In the search bar within the Settings window, type About
  • Click on “About your PC”
  • Under Windows specifications, ensure you’re either at or above version 1909 or 20H2

You Need to Update Your Graphics Drivers

If you haven’t updated your graphics drivers in a while, this could cause issues for Nightingale trying to launch. To fix this, you’ll want to go to the driver site for your graphics card manufacturer (either Nvidia, AMD, or Intel), select your GPU, then download the newest drivers. You may also have built-in software (i.e. GeForce Experience for Nvidia graphics cards) that can let you update the drivers directly.

If all of the above options fail, then you’ll want to get in contact with the game’s support team through a ticket. For this issue, be sure to select Technical Issue. With any luck, the team will get back to you. Good luck getting into the game! If you need help once you’re in, check out our guide on how to use Pusk to Talk in Nightingale.
