How to Finish the Night of the Cult in Escape from Tarkov

Time to purify Tarkov.

The Night of the Cult quest in Escape from Tarkov forces you to face one of the scariest enemies to fight in the game, the cultists. It is the first of many quests where you have to eliminate the cultists to finish the quest. While these cultists might be easier to find during the Halloween event, it also makes it harder to finish because other players will all be going for them as well. Here’s a guide on finishing the Night of the Cult as efficiently as possible in Escape from Tarkov.

How to Complete the Night of the Cult Task in Escape from Tarkov

To finish the Night of the Cult quest in Escape from Tarkov, you must finish the following objective:

  • Eliminate 5 hooded night people

The hooded night people are basically any cultist, whether they are from the Priest or the Harbinger. Both the Priest and Harbinger bosses spawn 2-4 other cultists with them, making the quest easier to finish. That is contingent on whether you can find the cultists faster than everyone else and also beat them in the same raid.

Cultists may spawn on several different maps in Escape from Tarkov. They also have an increased chance to spawn during the Halloween event. However, there’s one map that makes the quest easier to finish.

In the residential area (Zmejskij alley block) in Streets of Tarkov, there’s a 100% chance that Cultist Priests (Zhrets) will spawn. When they do spawn, they’ll have 2-4 Sektant Warriors accompanying them, which are also “hooded night people.”

In a way, there’s a slight chance that you can finish the quest in one raid. If there are four warriors, beating them along with the Priest will finish the quest. However, that’s a tall task, especially since other players will also be going for them.

Only Streets of Tarkov has the guaranteed spawn, but other maps will have a 50% chance to spawn the cultists. You can check out our cultists and bosses spawn rate guide if you want to play a different map. You can even finish other quests while you are at it. As long as you queue in a raid between 22:00 and 7:00, these cultists will spawn, and you can finish quests like Reconnaissance, which is next to the cultists’ spawns in Lighthouse.
