How to Find Crystals in Ark: Survival Ascended: Scorched Earth

Crystal is one of those all purpose items that’s essential for a lot of late game crafts, like when you’re trying to make a spy glass or an air conditioner to keep your wyvern eggs cool. But finding Crystal in Scorched Earth is no easy task.

For those who want to stay above ground, the best option is on the mountain near the center of the map. Head to latitude 24, longitude 56.2 to find several clusters. But expect to have to make the hike up. Following the red dirt trail will be your best bet to getting to the summit, where most of these crystals are.

But crystals tend to be most common in the earth. And to that end, the best cave entrance is at latitude 78.8, longitude 76.1. This will take you into the dunes, where you’ll find the ruins of a city. In the largest building will be a hole in the ground that will take you deep, deep into the earth. You’ll encounter plenty of crystals here. In fact, if you go all the way to the bottom, you’ll even find an Artifact that’s essential for summoning the Manticore. Before you dive into any caves, be sure to bring a metal pick. This will ensure your best bet at getting those crystal to drop.

As you go spelunking, expect resistance in the form of every bug and bat you can imagine. Mantises, Arthroluera, and Achatina will all clog the narrow tunnels of this cave. Though, perhaps that’s a good thing. Achatina are a great natural source of Organic Polymer and Achatina Paste, which can substitute your Cementing Paste.

If you want to harvest even more resources from dinosaurs, there’s no better option than the Oasisaur you might stumble across on your way to those caves.
