Fortitude is arguably one of those stats that are useful at every stage in Ark: Survival Ascended. It has even bigger benefits in the desert biome of Scorched Earth. At first, upgrading this stat might not be that important, but becomes crucial, especially at the end game. Here’s if you should level Fortitude in Ark: Survival Ascended.
What is Fortitude in Ark: Survival Ascended?
In Ark: Survival Ascended, you’ll come across several harsh environments that apply a lot of negative effects on your characters. Your resistance to these factors is determined by Fortitude, and a higher stat value will result in better results.
In simpler words, all the harsh conditions that you could potentially associate with a particular biome/weather will be reduced if your stat value is high enough. While Fortitude was always pretty important, Scorched Earth makes it extremely crucial if you want to consistently explore the arid lands without dying frequently.
Should You Level Up Fortitude in Ark: Survival Ascended?
In one word, yes. As you start exploring more lands and different biomes, dying from environmental effects makes zero sense. There are plenty of places where the weather is of extreme type. If your Fortitude levels aren’t high enough, you’ll either get Hypothermia or Hyperthermia.
Ranking up your resistance stat allows you to manage these conditions more reliably. With reduced environmental effects, you can concentrate when it comes to completing different quests. The increased ability to survive also means that you won’t die frequently in these extreme places.
While you should also prioritize other stats as you level up, make sure to not sleep on Fortitude, even if it might not seem necessary. Certain gear will also increase your resistances, but it’s better not to rely on them entirely. The Fur Armor Set and the Desert Cloth Armor Set result in increased cold and heat resistances, respectively.
