How to Find All Caches in the Fishing Hole in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (FF7)

The Gongaga Region is absolutely crawling with caches. And while most of them host some pretty easy to find loot, the Fishing Hole cache just to the south of Izo’s Smithery might throw you for a loop. Here’s how to find all three hidden treasure chests in the Fishing Hole.

The first chest is indicated by the red star on the map. The second chest is indicated by the green star. And the third and final chest are indicated by the white star.

For our first chest, we’ll tackle the obvious one at ground level near the river of the Fishing Hole cache. You’ll just need to head a little south, then climb up the plateau to reach it. Once you do, you’ll find that there’s a Ruby inside, which can be used in Item Transmutation to create earrings.

The next two chests are on the tower of stone nearby. And by nearby, I mean literally just two yards away. You can see the second chest by turning north from where you found the first chest. Climb up to the second chest and open it to obtain two Mist Hi-Potions. Mist Hi-Potions can heal your entire team for 700 HP, making it useful in a pinch.

For the final chest, you’ll need to continue climbing the rock tower. Unfortunately, the climbing function can be a little persnickety.

But keep trying, and eventually, Cloud will scramble his way up. Go as high as you can, and you’ll eventually find the last chest at the top. Inside, you’ll be gifted with two Maiden’s Kisses. Maiden Kisses can remove Toad-related curses. Maiden’s Kisses are particularly useful in the Gongaga region, where you’re more likely to encounter Amphidex, who can turn you into toads with their special abilities.

Of course, there are plenty of wooden crates here as well, which you should break up to get the Moogle Medals inside. Moogle Medals are essential for finding at least a quarter of all the Folios in the game, and they can make a difference between an easy breezy fight and getting absolutely curb-stomped by a hag in a mech.
