How to Drain the Water to Move on in Sonic Frontiers

lakeconfig /flushwater

“The pond in front of Sonic has some kind of plug. Above it, a chain is connected to a huge stopper stone. Maybe it’ll move if something hits it with enough force” is the “riddle” you will come across while playing through Ares Island in Sonic Frontiers. But what does this mean?

Prima Games has you completely covered for this task and you’ll be done in less than two minutes! Here’s how to drain the water on Ares Island in Sonic Frontiers.

How Do I Drain the Water to Move on in Sonic Frontiers?

You will see a big chain that’s coming out of the water. Of course, the plug you need to remove is at the bottom end of the chain. As you walk the shores of this “lake”, you will see a bomb on a small platform. You have to arm it by running around it with using a Cyloop.

After you let go of the Cyloop button, catch the bomb (which is now armed, beeping, and shows a timer that might cause existential dread, but don’t worry, there is more than enough time) and run with it to the cannon that’s located down the shore. An animation will play where Sonic tosses the bomb in, and then you will be able to aim the cannon.

Aim the cannon at the center of the squares that are on that floating thingy that holds the chain, and fire away! Another animation will play, showing the water getting drained. And that’s it, you are done!
