How to Deal With Fog in Lethal Company

"Sir, you can't be piloting this ship without a fog horn. Licence and registration, please, and keep your hands on the Terminal."

Fog is one of many conditions you can get at random while visiting a Moon in Lethal Company. Unfortunately, there’s no knife in the game to cut through it, but here’s how to deal with fog in Lethal Company.

What to Do When You Get Fog as a Weather Condition on a Moon in Lethal Company

When you get Fog as a weather condition on a Moon in Lethal Company, turn around and go back to where you came from. Even the eerie silence of the vacuum is less frightening than the Fog.

After the tension has been escorted out, It’s not the end of the world if you get Fog as your weather condition. It is difficult to beat, but it is a possibility. Here are some tips on what you can do to make your life less difficult when you’re in the Fog (please note that I am not saying “easier”; nothing is easy with Lethal Company). If you willingly selected a Moon on which you know there is Fog, here’s what to do in this challenge you’ve thrown yourself into:

  • One player needs to stay on the ship to be the communication coordinator.
  • You need to invest in a proper fog horn (Loud Horn). It will help the crewmates find the ship (and it will help the monsters in the same endeavor, so do not use it often).
  • You need to invest in walkie-talkies. Minimum one for the three crewmates going out of the ship (if they manage to stick together and not lose it in the process of harvesting scrap), and one for the crewmate that remains. The Crewmate on the ship can help with navigation in the fog.
  • It would be extremely useful if you knew the Moon layouts by heart. It’s surely something that you do not learn in your first run, but having more experience and routine would certainly help you find your way to the Facility and then back to the Ship in less time. Some of the lightbulbs can be seen from a distance, so you can also use that as an aid. Look for landmarks that you can spot, and remember to attempt to recreate your walking route.
  • Enemies can still see you in Fog as if there were no Fog at all. Do not be surprised if a Forest Keeper comes to dinner out of nowhere.
  • Flashlights are near-useless, the same way car headlights are near-useless in real-life foggy conditions.

Of course, you can do everything without any equipment or assistance, but it comes with a very high risk. One last tip is that if the three crewmates die in action, they should initiate a vote to have the ship fly away with the last remaining crewmate because that’s the only signal dead players can send.

How to Get Fog Horn and Walkie Talkies in Lethal Company

You can buy both of these items from the ship terminal. Approach the Terminal on the shop and push the E button to enter the Terminal Interface. You’ll then need to type “Store” to enter the store. Next, look for the Loud Horn, which costs 150 credits and purchase. Do the same thing for Walkie Talkies or enter the command “Buy Walkie-Talkie” for 12 credits each.

Can You Turn Off Fog in Lethal Company?

You cannot turn the Fog off in Lethal Company through regular means. You can download a mod like the FOGremover mod here. You can check out our guide on how to install mods for Lethal Company here.
