How to Clear Thorns in Tears of the Kingdom

You’re pretty likely to stumble across a Skyview Tower or Shrine that’s absolutely surrounded by thorns. And no matter how you hack and slash, you won’t be able to brute force your way through them. There are only two methods that will clear them out.

How to Clear Thorns in Tears of the Kingdom

  • Fire
  • Explosives

With fire, all you really need to do is throw a Fire Fruit at any nearby bramble bush to set it aflame. A flaming arrow, a lit torch, or flamethrower will also do the trick.

Bomb Fruits are also a good option as they’ll explode and also set the thorns on fire.

How to Clear out Thorns that Are Wet in Tears of the Kingdom

If you’ve encountered Turakawak Shrine or Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower, you’ve likely seen the intense thorn infestation around them. And of course, the thorns are soaking wet, which prevents you from setting them on fire.

If this is the case, you may need to get some distance and glide over the thorns, in the case of Turakawak Shrine. Or for Rabella Wetlands as well. It’s a good idea to jump over the thorns at the entrance, but when it comes to burning the thorns, you’ll need to use the nearby construction materials to cover the ones at the entrance. There are two walls of scaffolding on either side of the entrance. Use the wood to build a cover over the thorns, then burn them.

Another option is to wait for it to stop raining. I had the good fortune of having a sunny day in Rabella Wetlands and was able to burn them like normal. So it does happen! But it’s better to build than wait.
