How to Breed, Fuse and Enhance to Make Strongest Pals in Palworld

What crimes against humanity occur in the Mixing Farm?

When it comes to love, Pals are a little convoluted. Here’s how to get your Pals to breed and all possible breeding pairs in Palworld.

How to Breed and All Pal Fusion Combos in Palworld

Pals are interesting creatures, capable of taking on the characteristics of their parents. And the only way to force these interesting combos is through breeding. Here’s how to breed in Palworld.

First things first. Breeding will take part in your base and will require the following:

  • A Mixed Farm.
  • Cake.
  • A male and female Pal.
  • Around twenty minutes.
  • An Egg Incubator.

With all those components, you’ll have a steady stream of eggs incoming.

How to Get the Palworld Mixed Farm

First, to get a Mixed Farm, you’ll need to be level 19, which will allow you to unlock the “Mixing Farm” from the Technology Menu. To get to the Technology Menu, open the inventory and tab over to the “Technology Menu” to the right.

You’ll then need to spend two Technology Points to unlock the Mixed Farm. To get Technology Points, you can unlock Fast Travel Points or read Technical Manuals, which you can find at the end of level 19 dungeons or by defeating Wixen or Katress.

In Palworld, Mixed Farm, or “Breeding Farm,” allows players to breed and consolidate their pals in one place. Cross-species breeding in the Mixed Farm introduces unique outcomes, which let players experiment with different pairings. Mixing and matching pals’ characteristics in the Mixed Farm leads to unique results.

You’ll need these materials to build the Mixed Farm:

  • Wood x 100.
  • Stone x 20.
  • Fiber x 50.

Mixed Farms are quite large, so be sure you have a lot of space. I personally opted to create a second base (available once you level your base up to around level 10) purely for breeding and creating Cake. And speaking of cake…

Do you happen to know the process for crafting armor in Palworld? Let’s explore and find out!

How to Make Cake in Palworld

Making cake is easier said than done. You’ll first need a Cooking Pot, which you can get a level 17 in the Technology Menu. And once you’ve built that, you’ll need the Cake’s ingredients:

  • Flour x 5.
  • Red Berries x 8.
  • Milk x 7.
  • Egg x 8.
  • Honey x 2.

I go more in-depth on how to make a cake here, but here’s the short of it.

How to Get Flour in Pal World

To get flour, you’ll need a Mill and a supply of wheat. To that end, farm Floppie, Cinnamoth, and Bristla, found near Hypocrite Hill waypoint for Wheat Seeds. Alternatively, you can purchase some Wheat Seeds (as well as Red Berries, Milk, and Eggs) from the Wandering Merchant at the Small Settlement for around 100 Gold each.

Once you have Wheat Seeds, unlock the Wheat Plantation and Mill from your Technology menu. Like the Red Berries the tutorial forced you to grow at the start of the game, the Wheat Plantation will require a Pal that knows farming (the leaf icon) a Pal that knows watering (the watering can icon), and a Pal that can harvest (the hand icon) to be automated.

The Wheat will then be transported into the food bin, where you’ll need to manually carry it to the Mill. Once there, you’ll need a watering Pal to work the machine and turn the Flour into Wheat. It takes three Wheat to make one Flour.

How to Get Red Berries in Pall

Red Berries are one of the most plentiful items in the game, but if you need a quick refresher, or need to know where Red Berry seeds are located, I’ve got you.

Red Berries can be found in the wild as a bush, most commonly in the starting area near the Plateau of Beginnings waypoint. Once that’s found, harvest berries until you get seeds. Or simply purchase them from the Small Settlement for 50 Gold from the Wandering Merchant within the cabin.

Then, create a Berry Plantation. You won’t need to manually put the berries into your inventory if they go to the Food bin. So long as the berries are somewhere in your base, they count in your crafting menu.

If you use “pay-to-win” tactics, you can also search for a Wandering Merchant who sells ready-made cake ingredients, like Milk, and Eggs.

How to Get Honey in Palworld

You can automate Honey gathering in Palworld if you have a Beegarde on hand. You’ll also need to create a Ranch, which is available at level 5 in the Technology Menu. Then, simply grab the Beedgarde and throw into the Ranch for it to start producing Honey. It may try to leave its assigned task as there’s more it can do besides producing Honey, so you may want to close the Ranch in with a barricade.

If you don’t have a Beegarde at the ready, you’ll instead want to defeat Cinnamoth, Beegarde, and Elizabee in the wild, which are three insect-like Grass types that drop Honey.

These Pals can be found near the Mossanda Forest waypoint. Personally, I built my second base in an area with a lot of Beegarde and Elizabee mobs. Just to make it easier to find them and to transport Honey back to my Cooking Pot. They’re not easy to catch after all, considering their tendency to explode.

How to Get Milk in Palworld

You can opt to purchase Milk from the Merchant in the Small Settlement for 100 Gold, but this will get pricey extremely quickly. Instead, it’s better to just get the milk straight from the udders.

Mozzarina is the only natural source of Milk in Palworld, and it’s a bit of a rare spawn. It can be found near the Ravine Entrance and Sealed Realm of the Swordmaster waypoints. And don’t worry about its gender. Even male cows can be milked. We don’t ask how or why.

Once you have a Mozzarina, deposit Mozzarina in your base. If there’s a Ranch present, Mozzarina will immediately begin producing milk in the Ranch. No need to do anything special.

How to Get Eggs in Palworld

Just like Mozzarina, you can opt to purchase Eggs from the Small Settlement Merchant, try to find them on the ground, or just get the eggs from the butt that birthed it.

In this case, Chikipi. Chikipi is a very common spawn which can be found near the Plateau of Beginnings. Once you have a Chikipi, deposit it in your base while there’s a ranch present. It will begin producing eggs.

With all that done, you now have the ingredients to make Cake, which will take between 20 and 30 minutes, depending on how good your Pals kindling is.

Keep in mind this Tip: With the exception of Honey and Flour, all the ingredients you need to gather to make a cake in Palworld are perishable, including the cake itself. To make things easier on yourself, you may want to invest in building a Cooler Box to reduce the speed at which these items spoil.

Once you have cake, you’ll need to select your breeding pairs.

How to Breed in Palworld

So, you have a Mixing Farm. You have cake. Now, you need a Pal of opposite genders.

Pals that are born of a bred couple have a chance to have the passives and skills of their parents, though this isn’t guaranteed. However, this is easily the best way to create the strongest Pals in Palworld, as you can meticulously craft your Pals.

But more importantly, some Pals can be bred in order to get Fusion Pals.

To get your Pals to breed, lift your Pal up by approaching and interacting with them. Then, take them to the Mixing Farm and “throw” them inside. This will assign them to the Mixing Farm. Next, you’ll need to deposit the cake you’ve produced in the crate beside the entrance of the Mixing Farm.

To make sure the Pals are breeding, approach the two straw beds in the Mixing Farm and you’ll see a pop-up window that will tell you “Love is blossoming between the two Pals!” if the matchup is a success.

Breeding takes between ten and fifteen minutes. Once that happens, you’ll see a sparkle in front of the Mixed Farm. Interact with the sparkle to find the egg. The parents will continue to breed so long as there’s cake for them to munch on. I guess sugar really is the secret to romance for Pals.

Once you have the egg, deposit it in an Incubator. Eggs of all type benefit from being close to a fire, with most eggs getting a 100% boost and Damp eggs receiving a 50% boost.

Since we previously discussed the incubator, are you familiar with its proper usage?

All Pal Fusions in Palworld, Listed

Pals are interesting in that many have unique variants. There are Pyrin Nocts, Eithyrdeer Terra, Leezpunk Ignis. And while you can catch many of these variants in the world, you’ll need to breed others.

That’s where Pal Fusion comes in. Though, currently, we’re still experimenting to create new combinations. Here are the confirmed Pal Fusions so far:

It’s possible that any Pal of a specific elemental type will do the job when trying to breed for a particular Pal variant. But I’ve been trying to create a Vanwyrm Cryst with a Swee for ages and the pile of dud eggs seems to indicate that specific Pals may be necessary.

At any rate, you can check out a Palworld Breeding Calculator to help you anticipate breeding results when using the Mixing Farm.
