Becoming an astronaut in video games is often an interesting and action-filled adventure. While some games have you flying in space from the moment you log in, others require you to put a lot of time and effort into climbing the ranks and working toward this dream. BitLife falls under the second category, and although this might sound overwhelming at first, I’m here to guide you through it all and teach you exactly how to accomplish this. - Go to Space Academy and train your performance
- Apply to a Space Agency and become an astronaut!
You must finish each step in this exact order, so prepare for a long journey ahead.
Buying the Astronaut Special Career Pack
Before becoming an astronaut in BitLife, you’ll have to purchase the Astronaut Special Career pack. The Astronaut pack costs USD 6.99 or your regional equivalent, meaning you must spend real money to pursue this job. Fortunately, if you previously bought Boss Mode, you’ll get the Astronaut career for free.
Getting a STEM Degree and Pilot’s License in BitLife
The next step is to graduate with a STEM degree and pursue your pilot’s license. To get a STEM degree in BitLife, enter university and go for any science, technology, engineering, or mathematics major. The safest bet is to become an engineering or mathematics major, but you can also go for biology or chemistry if you’d like.
As a quick example, the picture below shows me finding the engineering major. I ended up choosing this for my character before working toward joining NASA!

Getting your pilot’s license is a slightly harder accomplishment, requiring you to attend 40 hours of flight lessons and take the pilot test. To do this, go into Activities > Licenses > Flight School and spend a few thousand dollars to take 40 hours of classes. From here, head back into Licenses, pick Pilot’s License and answer the question correctly to get your license.

How to Graduate From Space Academy in BitLife
Once you have your STEM degree and pilot’s license, it’s time to enter the Space Academy! To do this, go into Occupation > Special Careers > Astronaut > Space Academy and apply for the program! Like university, you can get a scholarship or pay out of pocket before attending for two years.
During these two years, you’ll have to train to perform well enough for graduation. At first, the bar will appear red to signal a failing grade, but you can raise it high enough for the bar to turn green. You’ll find three different training options in the Space Academy:
- Fitness Training
- Flight Training
- Technical Training
To raise your performance, graduate from the Space Academy and become an astronaut in BitLife, repeatedly use these three training methods until you max out all three stats!
One of the most complex parts of the Space Academy is answering astronaut technical training questions. Since these are specific, real-world astronomy quiz questions, you’ll have to research to find the correct answers. While my characters still graduated without focusing on this too much, it’ll help make things much easier if you struggle with flight or fitness training.
How to Apply For the Astronaut Career in BitLife
Once you successfully graduate from the Space Academy with high performance, you’ll be eligible to apply for your character’s country’s Space Agency. After graduating, you will normally see a pop-up asking if you want to apply to the agency or take time off. You can either do this right away or take time off and head back into the Astronaut special career tab later and apply. Either way, apply to the agency and answer the interview question correctly to become an astronaut in BitLife!
