The slightly unusual sequel to Square Enix’s legendary JRPG series Final Fantasy XVI is coming to PlayStation 5 on June 22. With a free demo available, many players are very hyped about this release but also wondering how much space such a large game will take up if they decide to go for the digital version. What is the Download Size of Final Fantasy XVI (FF16)?
The full version of Final Fantasy XVI for PlayStation 5 will take up exactly 94.91GB of space. When it comes to the physical version, as Square Enix says, they barely managed to pack the game on one disc so that it won’t come on two discs like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

And while the sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake will probably take up to 200GB, Final Fantasy XVI is neatly packed into under 100GB. This is still quite a size for what is no doubt a very large game, so get your free space ready!
Although Final Fantasy XVI will not be an open-world game, the realm of Valisthea is vast, and the game is chock-full of cutscenes, extra dungeons, and other highly polished material. Why do I say polished? Because this title will defy the ugly modern tradition of unfinished launches and release on the first day in its full form. Players who begin the game on the launch date (June 22) will not need to download the Day 1 patch because Fantasy XVI will not have one! I honestly can’t remember the last time something like this happened, so congratulations to Yoshi P and his team.
