Headlong Mission Puzzle Solution in Destiny 2 Lightfall

Leave it to the Vex to complicate things.

Guardians who are making their way through the Destiny 2 Lightfall campaign won’t have too many complicated diversions along the way, but every campaign has to have at least a few. One of the first real puzzles in the campaign appears in the Headlong mission, and it involves the Vex.

Most puzzle rooms or arenas in Destiny 2 hold some kind of hint that you can find when you look hard enough, and that’s true here as well. However, it’s easy to miss solutions when the Vex won’t chill out, so we have you covered with the Headlong mission puzzle solution in our Lightfall guide.

Destiny 2 Lightfall – How to Solve the Headlong Puzzle

This mission in the campaign will bring Guardians to the Liming Harbor portion of Neomuna. There is a lot to explore here, and to get any further into this mission, the puzzle needs to be solved. You’ll know you’ve reached it when you find a gate that is blocked by the Vex. Initially, there will be enemies such as goblins and a minotaur that are guarding the area.

After you’ve taken out these Vex, some harpies will spawn, and your first instinct will be to shoot them down. However, you need them to complete the Headlong puzzle. Some of these harpies will be glowing and others won’t be. This is the first portion of the solution.

The other part of the solution you need is located above the gate that the Vex have blocked off. If you look above the gate, you’ll see crystals that are also alternating from bright to dark. These crystals are showing you the order in which you need to shoot the harpies. For example, if the first crystal to the left is dark, then you need to shoot the harpy that’s closest to the left and isn’t glowing.

When you’ve taken out the harpies in the correct order, the Headlong Puzzle in Destiny 2 is officially solved. Guardians may need to wait for the gate to register the solution, but within a few moments, the mission can be continued through the main gate of the Lightfall mission.
