How to Get Character Boosts in Destiny 2

Sick of the grind?

With the release of Lightfall in Destiny 2, Guardians have a new season and an entirely new campaign to complete. There is tons of fresh content to grind through, but that also means every character has been brought back down to 1600 Power, and that’s where Character Boosts come into play.

Those who don’t want to grind the same process out on three different characters can opt for the Character Boosts that Bungie brought to Destiny 2. Before you pick them up though, there are some requirements you’ll need to meet, and some money that needs to be spent.

To even have the option to purchase a boost for your Guardian, you’ll need to reach the new soft cap for the Power Level in Lightfall. With the new expansion, that soft cap is set to 1750. This is the point where you’ll need to run weekly activities for Powerful Gear.

Once you’ve hit 1750 on at least one character in Lightfall, you can access the option for a Character Boost in Destiny 2. You can find this option in the main character screen next to your emblems, or you can head to the in-game shop. They will set you back about 200 Silver per character.

For those that decide they want to go through with the boost, what you’ll get is a set of armor that brings that character to the soft cap without having to grind anything additional. However, this will not skip the Lightfall campaign like the other boost available in the game. We don’t advise picking up either of the boosts, but if you want to save some time, a Character Boost isn’t the worst idea in Destiny 2.
