Final Fantasy XIV Cavalry Drake Mount Guide

As you may have already guessed, the Cavalry Drake mount is a reputation mount which you can only get by leveling up your goodwill with the Amalj’aa. To be specific, you’re going to have to get to Trusted reputation with them, which is the fourth rank of interspecies diplomacy. If you’re not entirely sure how to do this, we have a few suggestions.

First, you’re going to want to make sure that you’re actually eligible to rep up with these slightly misunderstood scaly terrors. This should be something that you accomplish as part of the main scenario quests, but if you’re not quite there yet, keep an eye out for the quest Peace for Thanalan which you can pick up in Ul’dah when you’re at Level 43.

Once you’ve gunned through Peace for Thanalan, you can pop over to the Ring of Ash in Southern Thanalan to pick up Amal’jaa daily repeatable quests. These work the same way as any other reputation quests do – you can repeat them and hand them in for reputation, and as you work your way up the ranks to Trusted, you’ll be eligible to get the wind-up Amalj’aa minion and the Final Fantasy XIV Cavalry Drake mount. However, we do note that you’re going to need 120,000 gil to actually purchase the mount from the relevant reputation vendor, so you’ll want to save up to get this fire-breathing lizard for yourself.

So long as you’re keeping an eye on your reputation and also making sure that you have enough money in the bank, getting the Final Fantasy XIV Cavalry Drake mount is just a matter of perseverance and rep grinding.
