Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: Is There a Reward for Playing the Piano in Chapter 1? – Answered

Do you get anything for practicing on the piano?

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is finally here, and it looks like there are countless things for players to accomplish in this acclaimed action RPG. But, if you take a moment to stop and play some music, do you get rewarded for it?

Do You Receive Any Rewards for Playing the Piano in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?

If you’re planning on making a beeline directly to the Lockhart residence to play Piano, you may want to hold off for a bit. During the start of the game, you’ll have near immediate access to this musical piece of equipment by visiting Tifa’s room in Chapter 1, but anything done on it will mainly be for fun or practice. You won’t receive a reward for doing anything with the piano until you reach at least Chapter 6, where you’ll need to score an A ranking on the Piano to receive any sort of reward.

However, in Chapter 1, you and Cloud can practice your musical skills — and we would strongly recommend doing that so you can at least learn the basic mechanics of how this mini-game works. You can practice some real-life tunes if you’re quick enough, or you can find a way to play some of the most iconic Final Fantasy tracks before embarking on your musical quest later in the game.

How to Get a Reward for Playing Piano in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

In Chapter 6, you’ll have the chance to visit Costa del Sol and speak with an NPC by the name of Dorian. You’ll find him in the Royal Coast Hotel, and he’ll challenge you to play any of the Sheet Music that you have found around the world, rewarding you any time that you have achieved at least an A Rating or better. He’ll also give you Tifa’s Theme here. So, while you may not be rewarded for noodling around with the piano found earlier in the game, you can at least look forward to getting your hands on some special items later on.
