How to Unlock Side Stories in Doki Doki Literature Club Plus

When it comes to unlocking all seven of the game’s side stories, you’ll need to write poems tailored to each character’s preferences, with the exception of Monika. So for example, write poems specifically for Yuri using words that Yuri will like.

After that, repeat the process again for characters like Sayori and Natsuki. We have a massive guide on each character’s favorite words and how many points each word is worth for each character if you need help with the poem aspect of the game.

Winning over each character with poems they like is also part of unlocking the game’s “good” ending (which we also have a guide on if you’re curious).

If you don’t want to do all of the back-and-forth save and load work that’s required to get that special ending though, there’s another way to unlock all of these side stories and that’s to simply focus on one character at a time per run.

The first time you play, focus on a character like Sayori or Natsuki. After beating the game, you can then fast-forward through things you’ve already seen. Doing this helps speed up the process as you work to win over each character, but fast-forwarding is not required. It’s more for the sake of convenience.

Note that the side story “Equals” can only be unlocked once you’ve unlocked the other side stories and have sat through them all.

By watching and completing each side story, you’ll also earn new artwork for your gallery. And there you have it, all of the side stories available in Doki Doki Literature Club Plus and how to unlock them!
