The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered brings the classic RPG title from Bethesda to modern platforms with an Unreal Engine 5 overhaul, with several quality of life improvements.
It looks fantastic, especially on PC, but if you’re like me and are a bit tired of sitting through the intro logos every time you boot up the game, here is how you can skip those in Oblivion Remastered using a handy mod.
Skip the Oblivion Remastered Intro
Like other Bethesda Softworks games, Oblivion Remastered greets you with a few unskippable logos that linger on screen a bit too long. Thankfully, a handy mod from NexusMods user Volitio skips these intros and takes you straight to the main menu.
Here is how you can install this mod:
- First, you will need a free Nexus Mods account to download mod files
- Now, head over to the following link and download the mod files.
- This will download a zip file containing the mod files.
- Head over to where Oblivion Remastered is installed on your PC
- Right-click the game in your Steam library
- Select Manage > Browse local files
- In the Oblivion Remastered folder (where you can also see the executable), extract the mod zip file.
That’s all you need to do, and the next time you launch Oblivion Remastered, the logos will be skipped. Despite what the developers said during the live stream, Oblivion Remastered seems to be just as moddable as the original, and we should see plenty of mods show up in the coming days.
Here are a few mods to check out if you’re just starting out again:
- Carry Weight Modifier
- Unleveled Item Rewards
- Better HUD
- Richer Vendors
- Faster (And Slower) Levelling
All of these links lead to NexusMods, and you need an account to download them.
You might have to use the mod again in case of an update or if you have verified the game files, because essentially this is just updating the relevant video files.
Mod support isn’t officially supported as of yet, but nothing is stopping you from modding Oblivion Remastered. This isn’t an online title, and mods are an important part of the experience, like with any other Bethesda game.
