After plenty of leaked screenshots and teasers from insiders, Bethesda Softworks has dropped The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered across all platforms. Developed in collaboration with Virtious, the remaster brings the beloved RPG to modern platforms with an updated presentation thanks to Unreal Engine 5 and several quality-of-life features.
It comes packed with plenty of Steam features, including cloud saves, but like any Bethesda title, you’ll probably be moving your saves around a lot. Here is the save file location for Oblivion Remastered on PC.
Oblivion Remastered Save File Location
Client | Save file location |
---|---|
Steam | C:\Users\[Windows Username]\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\SaveGames |
All your data can be found in the SaveGames folder, though it’s easier to copy the Oblivion Remastered folder for future use. The configuration files are in the Saved folder, followed by Config.
To access the same location for the save files quickly, enter the following address in Windows Run or File Explorer.
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\SaveGames
Similarly, you can enter the following to head straight to the configuration files folder instead:
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\Config\Windows
Oblivion Remastered Steam Features
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered comes with the following Steam features at launch:
- Steam Cloud: Easily access your save files across different platforms, including the Steam Deck.
- Family Share: If you have purchased the title on Steam, members of your Steam family can now access it.
- Steam Trading Cards: As you play, you’ll receive trading cards on Steam, which can be sold on the Steam market or converted into badges.
- Achievements: There are over 60 achievements to unlock in Oblivion Remastered.
- Steam Point Shop: You can buy different backgrounds and emoticons on the Steam Point Shop for Oblivion Remastered. Here is a link to the specific shop entry.
- Steam Deck Verified: This means that Valve has approved Oblivion Remastered for the Steam Deck, and it has support for controllers, the in-game text is legible, and the game has enough settings to provide a playable experience on the Steam Deck hardware.
Overall, I’m glad to see that Virtous and Bethesda put in the time to release a competent PC port for Oblivion Remastered that’s a bit on the demanding side, but makes up for it with plenty of settings to adjust and gorgeous visuals to boot.
