Can You Transfer Save Files in Stray?

If you were lucky enough to get a PlayStation 5 in late 2020 or early 2021, you surely remember the horrible situation with the save file transfers from PlayStation 4 versions of games. Back then, that option simply wasn’t there for many titles, while some others used strange workarounds to get your save files to transfer. Fortunately, now in 2022, there are more and more games that do this process of transferring save files from the old to the new generation automatically – Stray included!

So it is possible to transfer Stray save files from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5 automatically, and vice versa if you really want to. So if you started your cat-simulator adventure on PlayStation 4 and decided to switch to a new system, you won’t have to start the game from the beginning, even when playing the PS5 version of the game. Sadly, the transfer of save files between PlayStation consoles and the PC version is not possible.

Whether on PC, last-gen, or next-gen (shouldn’t we call it current-gen by now?), Stray is a super-fun experience that you shouldn’t miss if you like cats and some good platforming/puzzle action.

UPDATE: There seems to be an issue with transferring PlayStation 4 save files from the streaming version of the game to the PlayStation 5 digital version. For now, there is no solution for this one, but hopefully, in one of the upcoming updates, this save transfer issue will be resolved.
