Can You Jump in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth? (FF7)

It's a me, Cloud Strifeio.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has spread its proverbial wings, allowing players to explore a massive open world before them. However, one of the first things I noticed was the lack of a traversal option — is the option to jump just not available here?

Is There A Jump Button in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?

While exploring the Grasslands or anywhere in between, the ability to jump could be a lifesaver — however, this option isn’t available in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. You’ll be able to press the Circle Button to engage in some Traversal Options, but there is no dedicated Jump button here. There is a sense of verticality in the environment that you’re roaming throughout so in that case, the Traversal Options button will help you reach your destination, or Climbers should be available to help you get to new heights while you’re attempting to feel out the Dynamic Difficulty option.

It’s a shame that an option as basic as this isn’t available, especially after playing Final Fantasy XVI. It can make navigation throughout some of the early portions of the game feel a little cumbersome especially since you’re getting accustomed to the movement and the general scale of the world, but you may not even realize that this option isn’t available as you continue progressing throughout the story. While it was initially one of my biggest complaints, as I’ve made my way further into the game, I’ve concluded that maybe it isn’t truly a necessity — but it would still be nice to have the option available to us when we would like to use it.

Make sure that you’re keeping your eyes peeled on our Final Fantasy VII Rebirth section below to learn more about the game, and find out if you’ll have the option to transmog your weapons to change up their visual appearance while utilizing the powers of a new weapon you’ve found.
