Cities Skylines 2 Can I Run It

Can My PC Run Cities: Skylines 2? – Answered

Can your machine handle a whole city?

Cities: Skylines 2 has been review-bombed after its disastrous release with an abysmal performance even on higher-end PCs. While it’s totally possible to run the game with some more regular specs, how “regular” would they have to be to not run into issues while trying to craft the perfect city from scratch?

Cities: Skylines 2 PC Requirements Explained

Even with a poor release performance, it’s totally possible for you to run the game as long as your PC meets the minimum requirements, which, according to Steam, are:

Minimum:

  • OS: Windows® 10 Home 64 Bit
  • Processor: Intel® Coreâ„¢ i7-6700K | AMD® Ryzenâ„¢ 5 2600X
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia® GeForceâ„¢ GTX 970 (4 GB) | AMD® Radeonâ„¢ RX 480 (8 GB)
  • Storage: 60 GB available space

Recommended:

  • OS: Windows® 10 Home 64 Bit | Windows® 11
  • Processor: Intel® Coreâ„¢ i5-12600K | AMD® Ryzenâ„¢ 7 5800X
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia® GeForceâ„¢ RTX 3080 (10 GB) | AMD® Radeonâ„¢ RX 6800 XT (16 GB)
  • Storage: 60 GB available space

If you’re not sure of your exact specs, you can right-click on the My Computer icon on your Desktop and select Proprieties to see your exact specs. Your graphics won’t be shown here, but you should probably know which one you’re using. If you don’t, just look for your AMD/Nvidia Driver Software, which should give you the answer.

You might still encounter occasional issues here and there, such as some stuttering, but the game should be playable after making a few changes to settings, such as disabling Field of Depth view and Fog Quality.

The game will still not be running perfectly, but there’s not much you can do until Paradox Interactive releases some updates for performance. People are angrier than usual regarding the game’s blatant issues, so it shouldn’t take them that long.
